Become a Bilby Buddy for MACCA BILBY
Macca was named after radio personality and inspirational conservationist Ian McNamara (Macca), of ABC’s “Australia All Over”.
His broadcasts regularly highlight the plight of Australia’s unique native species and the struggle Australians face in saving them from feral animals. Save the Bilby Fund was launched on Macca’s program in 1999 and his continued support for education and conservation work is greatly appreciated.
Macca Bilby lives in Charleville. He has come a long way since his days in the burrows. He has become tolerant of his daily hugs from his keepers, loves his cricket and mealworm treats and most importantly has fallen in love with his girlfriend and mate, Indy. The pair are inseparable and sleep cuddled up together. Hopefully there will be baby Maccas soon in our growing Charleville captive breeding program.
